5-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional Guide

5-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional Guide
Themes from Christ Sanctuary Church

Day 1: Worthy of All Praise
Reading: Revelation 4:8-11
Devotional: The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders never cease declaring the holiness and worthiness of God. They cast their crowns before the throne, surrendering every honor back to the One from whom all things come. This is the posture of true worship. Whatever you carry today, whatever title or achievement you hold, consider laying it at His feet. Worship is not reserved for Sunday mornings or rehearsed songs. It is the daily acknowledgment that He alone is the source of everything good in your life. Let no rock cry out in your place. Raise your voice and declare He is worthy.
Reflection: What crowns are you holding onto that belong at His feet?
Application: Set aside five minutes today in silence before God, intentionally surrendering one area of your life back to His authority.

Day 2: What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Reading: Philippians 4:6-7
Devotional: The old hymn sung in this service carries a timeless truth: we forfeit peace when we fail to bring everything to God in prayer. The apostle Paul, writing from a prison cell, instructs believers not to be anxious about anything. Not some things. Not the small things. Anything. Every fear, every worry, every heartbreak qualifies as something God invites you to carry to Him. He is not a distant God who observes your suffering from afar. He is a friend who bore your sins and griefs. No betrayal exists in Him. He has proven His faithfulness over and over again.
Reflection: What burden have you been carrying alone that you have not yet brought to God in prayer?
Application: Write down one specific anxiety today and spend time in prayer releasing it to God. Trust that His peace, which surpasses understanding, will stand guard over your heart.

Day 3: The Sanctity of Life and the Image of God
Reading: Psalm 139:13-16
Devotional: Long before a child draws a first breath, God has already been at work. The psalmist declares that God knit each person together in the womb, that every day was written in His book before one of them came to be. This is not merely poetic language. It is a declaration of divine intentionality. Every human life, from the moment of conception to natural death, carries the fingerprint of its Creator. The speakers from Right to Life and Cradle reminded us that when we stand for the voiceless, we stand with God. Defending life is not a political act. It is a profoundly spiritual one.
Reflection: How does understanding that every person is made in the image of God change the way you see the vulnerable around you?
Application: Pray specifically today for the unborn, for mothers in crisis, and for the ministries in your community that are on the front lines of defending life.

Day 4: Faith That Works
Reading: James 2:14-17
Devotional: Cradle has served 427 families and seen 24 salvation decisions in a single year. That fruit does not grow in a vacuum. It grows from faith that refuses to stay seated. James asks a piercing question: if a brother or sister is without food and clothing and you say to them, go in peace, be warmed and filled, without giving them what they need, what good is that? The gospel applied, as Cradle described their ministry, is faith with hands and feet. The church is not only a place to receive truth. It is a people sent out to embody it. Diapers, formula, and a Bible study in the same building is not a contradiction. It is the kingdom.
Reflection: Where in your life is your faith calling you to act rather than simply believe?
Application: Identify one practical need in your immediate community this week and take one concrete step to meet it in the name of Jesus.

Day 5: Life Beyond the Grave and Hope That Anchors
Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:54-58
Devotional: The song sung during this service declared that there will be a day when death will be no more, when every prayer prayed in desperation will find its answer in the presence of a risen Savior. Paul echoes this truth with thunderous confidence, declaring that death has been swallowed up in victory. The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law, but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is not wishful thinking. It is the bedrock of everything the church does, every vote cast in faith, every baby defended, every broken family counseled back to wholeness. Because He rose, everything matters.
Reflection: How does the certainty of resurrection change the way you engage with the brokenness you see around you today?
Application: Share the hope of the resurrection with one person this week, whether through a conversation, a note of encouragement, or simply being a steady and faithful presence in someone's suffering.
